This work is a movement installation made for gallery spaces. The audience is placed on the street, looking in through the gallery window, listening to the outdoor speakers. The main focus of the work is the use of symbols in our society; the symbols which are taken out of their original environment and context and often (mis-)used without a conscious reference to or thought of their meaning. The work questions whether the significance of various symbols and rituals, such as the religious and political symbols in our modern day environment will ever be fully understood by the majority of the public when they are not in directly relating to their personal experience and culture. Do these symbols and rituals, once exposed to the public through the entertainment media, loose their significance and influence?
