With Blonde On Beige we strive to make visible the daunting and haunting sensation of representing a stereotype, and how it's impenetrable faceless masks emphasize the loneliness of role-playing.Your appearance turns into a show but sometimes you just don't want to perform. Do you try to camouflage into the environment and take on the stereotype role given to you in search of protecting your privacy? With this project our interest lies in trying to analyze how human nature demands simplification of the surrounding world by typecasting and how we subsequently fall victim to these restrictions.
The project serves as a multi-media commentary, using images and known stereotypical looks as a weapon to portray something else then their banality. The result will be a photo book/DVD combination, due to be published in 2011/12.
