JO STONE (Actor)

Graduated as an actor from the Flinders Drama Centre in 95.
After graduating Jo performed in Peter Greenaway's Writing to Vermeer and Red Sun Red Earth Angela Chapman/John Romeril (Australia/ Japan production). She co-choreographed Koala Lou for the South Korean ISTA Festival and performed in two television series of The Music Shop.
Jo directed film / dance theatre piece Blue Love which is still touring Australia and internationally. The film Blue Love was nominated for best short film for the Australian Dance Awards and the Athens Short trip Festival. Jo has toured Europe and worked for the Schaubuhne / Berlin, with director Constanza Macras in pieces Big in Bombay (still touring) and Back to the Present. She's also worked and toured for two years with company Company Les Ballet C de la B in their productions 9x9 and Foi. Among others, she's worked with Choreographer Vera Mantero and with Director Paulo Castro on Stone/Castro productions, writing, directing and performing their works internationally. Since living back in Adelaide ( 2006) Jo has performed (Stone/ Castro) production B-File in the Adelaide Fringe 07 (nominated for a Fringe Award) and Lamama Theatre Melbourne. ( B-File is currently nominated for 3 Green room awards) Paulo Castro for best production and best direction and Jo Stone as Best Outstanding Performer.
She also re-united with No Strings Attached and wrote and performed And I you with Kelly Vincent for their duets program 07.
In 2007 Stone /Castro created dance theatre piece Dis-integration for Dancenorth-Townsville.
Jo is currently directing a performance at AC Arts Adelaide to premiere this April. She will teach physical theatre at Flinders University again this year and joins two Adelaide companies in their coming performances Wolf (Slingsby) and Pyjama Girl (Lady Killers) to be performed later in the year and in 09.
