SVEINBJÖRG THORHALLSDÓTTIR
Sveinbjörg Thorhallsdóttir graduated as a dancer from Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre in 1995. Since then she has worked professionally as a dancer and a choreographer in dance and theatre productions in all theatres in Reykjavík. Alongside she has worked as a teacher and workshop leader for many years and was the head of the Modern Department of the Icelandic Ballet School for years. Sveinbjörg was one of the founders of Reykjavík Dance Festival 2002. In 2004 Sveinbjörg founded the performance production house Panic Productions alongside Margrét Sara Gudjónsdóttir in Reykjavik, Iceland. Together they have done three collaborations; Palliettudula (2004), no, he was white (2005) with Anne Tismer and Rahel Savoldelli (www.gutestun.com) and Private Dancer with Jared Gradinger which will be premiered 2008 in the Reykjavik City Theatre. Sveinbjörg graduated with Masters Degree in Choreography from Tilburg University, Holland 2008.
